EVERYTHING for his dream: A life for horses! Visit to the world-famous Arabian stud farm
Ibrahim Abualnaja is currently completing the Equestrian Stable Management Program and would like to use this knowledge to set up his own stable in the future. In addition to the valuable lessons, he was particularly impressed by the meeting at this year’s CHIO Aachen. “That was the highlight of the year, also for me personally. I got to see my childhood hero Rodrigo Pessoa up close during the course walk, which was very special.”
Ibrahim Abualnaja has never let anything stop him, despite many setbacks. He discovered his love for horses at the age of four at a riding school in his hometown Gaza. To fulfil his dream of becoming a show jumper, he came to Belgium in 2018 at the age of 19. He had to leave friends and family behind. The first years as a refugee are hard, but Ibrahim stays focused, learns English and finds a job at the famous Arabian stud farm PRIVILEGE SFQ. After two years, he moves to a showjumping stable and gets a little closer to his dream.
Until a serious accident, which severely affects his hearing and sense of balance, makes riding almost impossible and his dream appears to be over. But Ibrahim doesn’t give up, returns to PRIVILEGE SFQ and takes part in the Equestrian Stable Management Program at the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS. His new dream is to become a stable manager, and that’s exactly what the program is all about.
